The
Journey
of
Ranjitha
Yogananda:
From
Civil
Engineer
to
Pastry
Chef

Personal Trainer 1

Civil
engineer-turned-pastry
chef
Ranjitha
Yogananda,
a.k.a
Thee
Flour
Girl,
paved
her
journey
from
construction
rubble
to
the
baker’s
table
one
dough
at
a
time.
The
founder
and
chef
de
cuisine
of
TFG
Café
often
fancied
donning
the
chef’s
hat
and
dishing
out
delectable
delights
in
her
own
little
café.
The
force
stop
that
the
Covid
years
brought
about
gave
Ranjitha
a
nudge
to
try
her
hand
at
making
desserts
and
baking.

By
the
time
the
pandemic
receded,
Ranjitha
knew
her
heart's
desire.
She
completed
a
course
in
baking
from
Lavonne
Academy
of
Baking
Science
and
Pastry
Arts,
Bengaluru
and
started
taking
pre-orders,
working
out
of
a
small
room
on
the
terrace
of
a
friend’s
house.
WhatsApp
and
word
of
mouth
were
her
only
marketing
tools.

The
aromas
of
finely
crafted
food
travel
far
and
Ranjitha's
berliners
-
German
doughnuts
with
jam
filling
and
vanilla
icing
-
worked
like
magic.
Soon,
‘foodfluencers’
started
lining
up
her
modest
set
up
in
a
quaint
Bengaluru
bylane
to
zoom
into
her
art
and
craft.
What
followed
was
a
stream
of
orders.
And
so
blossomed
Thee
Flour
Girl,
with
its
first
outlet
opening
at
JP
Nagar
in
January
2023.

Ranjitha's
creations
are
a
pursuit
in
awakening
the
palate
to
a
feast
of
flavours.
Be
it
the
Mixed
Berry
Cheesecake
or
the
Tiramisu
in
the
form
of
Petit
gâteau,
her
experimental
take
on
food
is
what
pulls
in
the
discerning
connoisseurs
of
fine
taste.
